1522 Latest Progress Shots....Also, Some news on the 4449

Things are really cooking now! We've been fortunate to be able to develop strong relationships with the groups responsible for restoring and running these great and famous locomotives!

The results...the most accurate and realistic steam locomotives that we can make for MSTS. We're getting access to all parts of the locomotives.

Currently, we're working on the custom cabs of both steam locomotives. You'll get to feel what it's like to run one of these beauties by yourself - It's an experience that not many people get to have upfront and personal, but we'll be doing our best to bring this realistic experience to you. We've got all of the sound, custom captured for us by these restoration groups. All of us are very interested in bringing to you the excitement and experience that only a few can experience - what its like to run the 4449 or the 1522 from inside the cab!

As you can see, the 1522 Frisco is coming along great! Conn did an excellent job in modeling and Verne is just putting on the finishing touches of paint!

For the 4449, Doyle McCormack and the Friends of the 4449 Inc have gone out of their way to generously provided us with our own 360 degree views of inside the 4449 cab in QuickTime VR format! What this allows us to do is look around the 4449 cab, then capture the pictures and views that we'll need to create the cab view and textures for MSTS. We have full 360 degree views of both the engineer's and fireman's sides in high resolution! You people are going to be in for a real treat! Stay tuned next week as we unveil more progress on the 4449 model....

Keep checking back at www.trainartisan for more progress news on these great locos!

We've had this under wraps for a while too! You're looking at the marvelous modeling of Train Artisan's own Conn McCarthy and the painting talent of VR Horton.

We've been working with Don Wirth and the St. Louis Steam Train Association to bring this famous surviving steam locomotive to life in MSTS.

We really enjoy forming relationships with the major steam restoration groups - not only do we get to talk to the people responsible, we also get full access to the locomotive so we can get as much accurate reference as we can.

It'll come with a new custom cab built from scratch the Train Artisan way - we're also including new real sound effects to heighten your experience running this loco.
